Animal Rescue Committee of Slave Lake, Animal Control and the Edmonton Human Society have received countless requests from community members to please check on the animals they had to leave behind. EHS is preparing to bring a team up in the morning to help ARC with rescuing local animals!
The EHS have set up a dispatch centre where families can report to us their home address, animal type and contact information. We will make every effort to rescue pets, but CAN ONLY follow up from dispatch reports submitted to us. This number is 780-491-3850 and we will have someone answering the phones first thing in the morning. Alternatively, you can leave details on the line for us to follow up tomorrow.

This page is to help the families and those displaced by the Slave Lake & Area fires. If you can help, donate items, time, money or a place to stay, please let us know. We will be posting updates on fundraisers, places to get help, and with your permission, send those in need your contact information. Also, if you consent, your email address, name and what you are offering so victims can get into contact with you. Mine is angie.mcconnell@hotmail.com

The residents of Gift Lake, Atikameg, Red Earth who have had to evacuate are worried about their animals left behind. Will this effort also help them??
ReplyDeleteSCARS (Second Chance Animal Rescue Society) has been working closely with the Edmonton Humane Society by going up to search and rescue the pets left behind as well as get vet care for those injured. They are currently in desperate need for extra funding to help with these projects and could use financial support. Please visit their website and donate via paypal!!
ReplyDeleteIf they are worried about their animals, definitely call the edmonton humane society and ask if they can help there too!
